MISSION: WOLF at High Desert Museum
HIGH DESERT MUSEUM
Above: Raven and Magpie were born in captivity and travel with Ken Weber as ambassadors. Although wolves can appear tame and friendly, they will always be wild.

Below: No one wants to face this jaw without the protection of those who handle them.

The feeling of being kissed by a wolf defies description. Many describe it as a spiritual experience. A large gathering at High Desert Museum shared the experience in 2004 and 2005.
The playful side of the wolf does not negate the fact that wolves in the wild are not to be approached. Wolves travel in packs and avoid people. Lack of familiarity with wolves and their behavior, and superstition, result in many unecessary deaths of the animals. Likewise, cross-breeding with dogs results in animals that cannot be domesticated.

Mission: Wolf is an organization founded to educate people about wolves and to provide a refuge in Colorado to house wolves who have been born in captivity or cross-bred with dogs. Mission: Wolf was founded by Kent Weber. Kent, Tracy Brooks and Annie White travel all over the country to educate people about wolves. Visit their website for complete information about their program. Mission: Wolf
